Take CBD to sleep?

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid, one of many molecules found in many varieties of cannabis. Because of the many therapeutic virtues attributed to it, it is the subject of many studies. In France, the law prohibits the cultivation of plants whose level of THC, the cannabinoid responsible for the psychotropic effects of the cannabis plant, is greater than 0.2%. Products containing THC are also prohibited. However, the law does not prohibit the cultivation of plants with a THC content of less than 0.2%. That’s why only hemp and Sativa L are used to produce CBD products.

THC or CBD: what’s the difference?

What makes THC a drug but CBD is not? The big difference is in their impact on the human body. But first, let’s do some biology. Studies conducted throughout the second half of the twentieth century demonstrated the presence of the endocannabinoid system in the human body. This system groups together large groups of receptors: the CB1 receptors (the nervous system) and CB2 (the immune system). THC has the property of attaching itself to CB1 receptors and will therefore have the psychoactive effect it knows. CBD will not interfere with the nervous system, but rather with the immune system (being treated with CB2 receptors). The CBD will not have the psychoactive effects of a drug, nor addiction. But rather relieve the immune system by playing the role of an anti-inflammatory and analgesic. The products of CBD are therefore aimed at reducing the sensation of pain and stress. The interest of taking CBD before going to sleep allows muscular relaxation and promotes the arrival of sleep. For the moment, no actual drug has emerged, and research is still needed in this area. Attention any faith, no taking substance for medical reasons should be done without the advice of a health professional.
